Please remember to bring/wear your name tags! If you do not have one, please make one - anything goes - be creative! It really helps new members to get to know everyones name.
Also--remember ---no tag no swag!
We would like to start having a demo or presentation at each meeting. Anyone interested in sharing a 15-30 min presentation please let Lisa Simmer Harvey know so she can get it on the calendar.
February will start this with Rebecca doing a demo on using Flickr. Equipment will be needed from the Williamsville library such as screen/projector etc.
Future presentations to include :
Pockets on back of quilts (Pam)
Color & Curves (Anne)
hand turned appliqué
February will be the first charity event - benefiting SPCA. Pam will be getting a list of donation requests from SPCA for us - and we can bring donation items to the February Meeting
March will be squares for a rag quilt. please bring 10" squares (cotton - not flannel) to be donated - Pam will then use her Accuquilt to make the rag squares. The backing will be made of flannel that she already has. Also needed for the donation is 7-1/2" cotton batting squares. Scary is good - anything goes.
Pam is planning on having a charity quilt each quarter.
CALENDAR OF EVENTS
In an effort to keep track of everything going on in the quilting world - Lisa & Anne will work together to set up an events calendar & have it posted to the WNYMQG Blog. This can include future meetings, quilt shows, retreats, Art Events etc.
SUMMER RETREAT?!? Lisa will set up a Facebook pole to see who is interested and also when the best time of year would be for everyone. This retreat could be local or Anne has some contacts/info for us to join up with another guilds retreat (maine, jersey shore),
